The Ashish spring 2013 collection was full of sparkling sequins and sportswear elements, does it surprise you to know that these two elements are designer Ahish Gupta’s favourites? Models walked down the runway sweaters, joggers, hoods and shorts that were all embellished with sequins whilst wearing crisp white classic reebok trainers.
It was sportswear made glamorous, the slouchy silhouettes looked endearing and rather cool. Other pieces that stood out were the full-length sequinned dresses, particularly the gold dress with the v-neckline. Quite literally everything was covered in sequins but not in an overkill kind of way – the collection was fun, youthful and visually dazzling.

Who is Ashish Gupta?

Ashish Gupta is an Indian entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist. He is the Founder and Managing Director of Helion Ventures, one of India’s leading venture capital firms. He is also the Founding Trustee of the Ashoka University and the Chairman of the India Venture Capital Association. He is an active angel investor, with investments in over 50 startups in India and abroad.

Gupta is well-known for his philanthropic activities. He is the Chairman of the Delhi-based non-profit organization Asha, which provides education to underprivileged children in India. He is also the founder of the Aarohan Social Innovation Foundation, which works to promote sustainable development in India. In 2014, Gupta was awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian award, for his contribution to trade and industry.
