Kate Middleton has stolen the hearts of many, but it seems that the Duchess still has a few critics that she just can’t please. Who dares to speak ill of the people’s princess, you ask – this time it’s shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood.
He told Grazia UK “It’d be great if she did wear [my] shoes. She just wears too much high street stuff. I know she’s trying to be democratic, but I don’t know how many pairs of LK Bennett you can wear. She does occasionally come out and is wearing [Alexander] McQueen or something like that. It’s like, ‘Do that more! You’re meant to be a princess-y type of person, so act like one!”
Hmm, according to Kirkwood then, it seems that the High Street is just for us regular ol’ poor people, it’s not good enough for royalty? Democratic, eh? Heh… that’s a bit of elitist thinking right there.
Part of the reason why there’s a great deal of affection for Kate is because she seems down to earth AND because she does mix high street fashion with designer fashion. Oh and we’re guessing she likes L.K Bennett. We hardly think the origin of a Kate’s shoes declares her an unfit Princess.
